MILLIONS of pounds will be raised by runners competing in the Virgin London Marathon 2013 on Sunday. Here the Welwyn Hatfield Times profiles two of the runners competing in the marathon for charity.
FOR better or worse, a married couple will be pounding the streets of London on Sunday.
Claire and Craig Longman are desperately seeking sponsorship to help a Welwyn Garden City charity.
The pair, who live in Stanstead Abbots, are running the 26.2mile course in aid of the Isabel Hospice, where Claire, 29, has volunteered for the last two years.
She said: “I volunteer at the hospice about once a month, so I see first hand what they do and the wonderful care that they give to their patients and families.”
The couple are aiming to raise £2,000 and have already collected £1,500 through cake sales and car washes.
