Youths who stole phone cases and speakers from the Howard Centre will be forced to litter pick as a punishment for their crimes.

Five boys between the ages of 11 and 13 pinched the items from a stall in the shopping centre at 6.45pm on Saturday, January 18.

Officers tracked down the thieves who then returned the stolen goods and paid £10 in costs to the stall owner.

They will now carry out a mixture of tasks including litter picking.
