Election address from Labour party leader Margaret Birleson

"Welwyn Hatfield received a good grant settlement from the Government so Labour voted against a council tax rise and increased cost of meals on wheels and luncheon clubs, which is so unjust on the most vulnerable people.

"Only Labour councillors will fight plans to sell the housing stock and are committed to building affordable homes.

"Residents are dissatisfied with the council's environmental services.

"We are committed to increasing doorstep recycling.

"We believe promoting positive activities for young people, working together with street wardens, police and other agencies we can provide a safer vibrant community.

We'll keep fighting for the QE2 Hospital.
