Firefighters put out a laboratory fire in South Mimms


Fire crews from Potters Bar and Borehamwood extinguished a fire in a medical laboratory in South Mimms.

The fire broke out at 8.23am this morning at the Francis Crick Institute in Blanche Lane.

A waste compactor on the ground floor had caught fire.

Firefighters entered the building wearing two sets of breathing apparatus and put the fire out with one hosereel.

The crews isolated the electrics and made the scene safe before leaving the site at 9.15am.
