A Knebworth woman and her team have made it through to the semi-finals of University Challenge.

Brainy Maeve Weber and her team from the University of London, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), appeared on the highbrow BBC Two show last night (Monday).

Among others, quizmaster Jeremy Paxman proffered questions on spying organisations, viruses and classical music associated with the sea.

The SOAS team beat Queen’s Belfast by 165 points to 145, in a closely fought contest.
