A CYCLIST from Knebworth was airlifted to hospital this morning (Friday) after he was in collision with a car.
Paramedics, police and the Hertfordshire Air Ambulance attended the crash in London Road, Stevenage, just before 10am.
Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson, who attended the incident, said: “On our arrival a man was found lying on the pavement right outside the exit of the B&Q store.
"Following a rapid assessment by paramedics, it was evident he had sustained a head injury.
“The helicpoter was able to land right next to the scene in a field.
"The man was airlifted to Queen's Hospital in Romford.
"He is in a stable condition.”
Police have closed the carriageway near B&Q.
The male driver of the silver Vauxhall Corsa was uninjured.
