DANGEROUS driving by speeding youngsters can be deadly - as these pictures show.

Megadrive Hertfordshire held a special showcase aimed at young drivers to highlight the perils of those who are careless on the roads.

The event, held at the Fielder Centre, Hatfield, sampled various workshops including accident investigation, assertiveness training and vehicle maintenance.

The day culminated in the dramatic crash reconstruction, with actors being cut out of crashed vehicles.

Angela Felstead has been involved in initiatives aimed at reducing the loss of young lives on Hertfordshire roads since the death of her 17-year-old son, Leigh, in an accident in 2004.

Speaking at the event she said: "We should make our children aware of the potential outcome of inexperience or dangerous driving and I would urge schools to run Megadrive Hertfordshire."
