The John Lewis Partnership bonus has been announced.

John Lewis and Waitrose staff will receive a bonus worth 10 per cent of their annual salary this year.

This is down from 11 per cent last year.

The partnership has a John Lewis department store in Welwyn Garden City town centre and a nearby Waitrose supermarket in Bridge Road.

Connor Campbell, a senior market analyst at, said: “With pre-tax profits falling around £40 million John Lewis Partnership cut staff bonuses for a third year in a row, from 17 per cent in 2013 to 10 per cent in 2015.

“The fall in profit appears to have arisen from the generally tricky retail situation high street stores find themselves in at the moment, alongside the shrapnel firing off in the current supermarket war, of which Waitrose is certainly a supporting player.”
