VOLUNTARY redundancy packages are being offered to staff at Hatfield's University of Hertfordshire.
A spokeswoman said: "In the present difficult economic circumstances, it is prudent to invoke this as a mechanism for reducing overall expenditure and provide for greater efficiency savings in the future.
"Although we anticipate the numbers to be small, all staff have the right to apply for voluntary redundancy and decisions on whether an application will be accepted will be made later."
Decisions would be based on a viable business case.
