AN angry dad smashed his way into his former partner’s home and attacked her and a man who was visiting.

Witold Pala, 27, was jailed for a total of nine months on Friday.

Prosecutor Laura Blackstone told St Albans Crown Court that Polish man Pala had a four-year-old daughter with Agnieszka Piesniewska but they had split up.

On February 25 this year she was at home in Clarkson Court, Hatfield, with their daughter when there was a loud banging on the door before her electricity was turned off.

He spat at the door and caused £30 worth of damage, before leaving when Ms Piesniewska called the police.

Three days later, she was at home again when Pala was outside shouting: “Let me in” and “Who is with you?”

He kicked the door open and pushed the man in the house, Akeel Mahmaad, back into the sofa before pushing his former partner to the floor, said the prosecutor.

When a neighbour, who heard the noise, shouted at him, Pala left.

He returned a third time in the early hours of March 4 and demanded to be let in. He left and was arrested the next day.

Pala, of Aviation Avenue, Hatfield, pleaded guilty to damaging property, two charges of assault by beating, possessing cannabis and using violence to enter premises.

He was in breach of a nine month jail sentence suspended for two years in July 2011 for possessing an imitation firearm.

Defence barrister Ruth Jones said: “He was acting out of anger, jealousy and frustration.

“He is very remorseful. His only concern is his daughter.”

She said he did not accept pushing his former partner to the floor.

Judge Andrew Bright QC jailed him for three months for the offences, and activated six months of the suspended sentence.

He told him: “The offences were repeated and serious.”

He passed a restraining order banning him from contacting his former partner.

Speaking from the dock Pala said: “I am sorry for what I did.”
