A 29-year-old has been fined for having a bottle of ammonia and cannabis in Potters Bar.

Jamie Long admitted possession of a quantity of cannabis in Potters Bar on June 28.

He also admitted being unable to give any reasonable excuse as to why he had an offensive weapon, namely a bottle containing ammonia, in a public place.

The defendant was in Southgate Road, Potters Bar, at the time.

When he appeared at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on October 24, he was fined £133 for the cannabis offence and £330 for the bottle of ammonia.

Long, of Cat Hill, East Barnet, was also ordered to pay victim services £33 and £85 court costs.

The drugs and ammonia were forfeited under the Misuse of Drugs Act and Prevention of Crime Act and destroyed.
