An ambulance crew is currently on the scene of a crash on the A1(M) in Hatfield on the northbound carriageway.

An eyewitness told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “There’s a grey Jaguar car facing the wrong way in the fast lane of the northbound stretch and then there was another car off to the side.

“The Jaguar is half blocking the fast lane.”

A police spokesman said; “Police were called at 1.36pm to the A1 northbound at Junction 4 to reports of a one-vehicle collision.

“A car had collided with the central reservation.

“The driver of the vehicle, a man, is not injured.”
