THE high-profile search for a missing dog has switched its focus to WGC.
Jacob, a three-year-old orange and white Bracco Italiano, disappeared from his home in Saffron Walden, Essex, in January.
Owners Jon and Shelley Haggerwood immediately launched a campaign to find him - which earned a mention on GMTV last week.
Numerous sightings have since been reported - but it is the most recent one, near Stanborough Lakes, in WGC, that has provoked most interest.
Shelley, who has set up an online blog to help locate her pet, told the WHT: "We had a recent report from a dog walker that a man in his mid-40s in the WGC area has acquired a new dog, and he very much fits Jacob's description.
"The lady who saw him is 99 per cent sure it is Jacob."
According to Shelley, the man, described as tall, slim and dark haired, told the dog walker he bought the dog after seeing it chained up on a travellers site in Essex.
The 40-year-old added: "We just want our dog back and as soon as we have Jacob in our grasp that is all we will need."
If you have any information which could help find him, call 07828 671550. A cash reward of 500 is offered for his safe return.
