A COUPLE in Burnham Green are seeking the owners of a lost cockatiel they found in the woods.

Sue Mintram-Mason and her partner Garth Mason are hoping the owners of a lemon and white bird will come forward and take the feathered friend off of their hands.

Mrs Mintram-Mason, 61, said she has put posters up in the village and enquired at the vets in the area, but has had no luck tracing the owners.

She said her husband had bumped into a couple who had been walking in the forest last Sunday and when they came out the bird was sitting on one of their shoulders.

Garth offered to take the bird and help find the owner.

“They seemed quite relieved to be rid of it,” said Mrs Minter-Mason, who is retired.

“The bird was exhausted, I think it had only been out that day and it is very tame.”

If the bird belongs to you contact Sue Mintram-Mason on 07905 486067 or 01438 798526.
