iPhone stolen by bike-riding mugger

A MAN had his iPhone swiped from his hand by a young mugger on a bike.

The 47-year-old victim was walking along Greyhound Lane, South Mimms, with his Apple iPhone in his hand when the thief, thought to be a teenager, rode up behind him.

The mugger snatched the phone out of the victim’s hand and ridden off in the direction of St Albans Road.

Police are appealing for witnesses any information about the theft, which happened at 2pm on Sunday, July 22.

The suspect is described as a white man, aged 14 to 18 years old, and 5ft 8in tall.

He had blond hair and was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans. He was riding a white bicycle with red writing on it.

Pc Gareth Clifford, from the Safer Neighbourhood Team in Shenley and South Mimms, said: “We would like to speak to anyone who saw this incident or who believes they recognise the description of the offender.

“If you have any information that could help the investigation, please get in touch with police by calling 101.”
