A LONG awaited inquest into the Potters Bar rail crash has been announced today .
Families of the dead have been campaigning for the hearing since the crash, in which seven people died, since 2002.
Transport secretary Lord Adonis decided today that an independent inquest to ensure "complete public scrutiny" of the crash is needed.
A faulty set of points was the cause of the fatal accident.
