A young girl was the first of three victims.

At around 7.50am on Monday the offender approached her and began a conversation before indecently exposing himself in Mount Grace Road, Potters Bar.

Police believe the same man was later seen by two girls in the same road.

Shortly after 8.30am two teenage girls walked passed a green coloured vehicle, possibly a Peugeot, when they spotted a man engaging in a sexual act.

The girls ran off and called police.

Following the incident, officers from the Potters Bar neighbourhood team are conducting extra patrols in the area.

Pc Dave Stansbury of the Potters Bar neighbourhood team said: "These incidents have been distressing for the victims involved and we are treating them very seriously.

"The girls did exactly the right thing by contacting the police straight away and have acted with great maturity in assisting us with our inquiries.

"I'm appealing to anyone who may have been in the area and may have seen the suspect, may have seen a green car being driven suspiciously or knows anything about the incidents to please come forward."

*The man was described as white, aged 30, with dark brown untidy short hair and wearing a grey shirt.

Anyone with information should call 0845 33 00 222.
