In awe of flower demonstration in Potters Bar

THE use of natural materials as frameworks for displays was shown by the latest demonstrator at Potters Bar Flower Club.
Nadina Burki was the guest demonstrator at the club’s January meeting, held at King Charles the Martyr Church.
Her arrangements made very successful use of natural materials as frameworks for her displays.
She wove orange gerberas, white roses, grasses and phormium leaves through a screen of delicate bamboo, a container covered in sisal held a beautiful combination of gerberas in antirrhinums in muted oranges and mauves.
Nadina comes originally from Pakistan and added interest to the evening by talking about her life there, including a traditional Pakistani wedding ceremony.
She also spoke about her wonderful pashmina collection and had brought a few along to decorate the bench, some were as fine as silk though made of wool.
She even used one in an arrangement wound around a piece of driftwood to carry a magnificent display of orchids as can be seen in the picture.
