ALESHA Dixon - Welwyn's very own Dancing Queen - has spoken to the WHT about her plans for the future.
The singer is jetting off to Japan next week to promote her solo album, but she found time to thank our readers for all their support.
Alesha, who won Strictly Come Dancing with partner Matthew Cutler, said the support was overwhelming.
While getting her hair and make-up done for a photo-shoot she took time out to chat to the WHT.
She said she had seen all our coverage and thanked everyone for backing her.
She said: "My mum always gets the Welwyn Times every week.
"I have seen every single copy.
"The front page with 'Dancing queen' was amazing. I loved that."
During the series run we roped in our junior reporter Simon Wesson to dance with shoppers in the Howard Centre, including Alesha's younger sister Leyanne.
Alesha said: "It was really sweet.
"It was overwhelming to see the support around the town."
The job offers since the show have been rolling in.
Alesha has turned down the chance to appear in musicals, concentrating more on her singing career.
She said: "People haven't seen what I can do as a solo artist, so I'm focusing on that."
Although she will be popping out of the studio in April as she gets set to star in a movie called Milestone, alongside Hollywood star Andy Garcia.
The pop princess had a message to everyone who supported her.
She said: "I'd like to thank your readers that did support me.
"Their votes have helped me win the show.
"They are great, so thanks.
