Potters Bar residents are being urged to look out for their voter registration details in the post.

The 2019 whole council elections may seem far away, but Hertsmere Council is ensuring residents get their say by conducting its annual canvass of the voter rolls.

Residents are being asked to fill out the form and return it to the local authority as soon as possible.

The form helps the council identify people who aren’t registered, and prompts people who have recently moved house to update their details.

Sam Langford, electoral services manager at Hertsmere Council, said: “It’s important that residents respond as soon as possible, so we can make sure we have the right details on the electoral register for every address in Hertsmere.

“To make sure you are able to have your say at elections taking place next year, simply check the form when it arrives and respond as soon as you can.”

“If you’re not currently registered, your name will not appear on the form.

“If you want to register, the easiest way is online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote, or we’ll send you information explaining how to do this in the post.”

If you are unsure if you are registered to vote or want a hard copy of any of the application forms call 020 8207 7481 or email elections@hertsmere.gov.uk.

For online registration, visit www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
