ANTI-SOCIAL noise can be reported to the police and council officers as it happens for the next month, as a scheme is extended.

Residents can call a special nuisance hotline between 9pm and 3am each day until October 18.

The scheme, run by Welwyn Hatfield Council, the police and the University of Hertfordshire, has been relaunched in time for the start of the new semester – although any anti-social disturbances across the borough can be reported.

It proved popular at the end of the last semester in July as residents made a total of 74 calls to the specialist teams. After October 18, the hotline will only be manned on Fridays and Saturdays.
