LABOUR'S parliamentary candidate for Welwyn Hatfield, Mike Hobday, said he was 'determined to fight back' on what turned out to be a very disappointing night for the party. Dropping from 10 seats to just five the Labour party were pretty much defeated.

LABOUR'S parliamentary candidate for Welwyn Hatfield, Mike Hobday, said he was "determined to fight back" on what turned out to be a very disappointing night for the party.

Dropping from 10 seats to just five the Labour party were pretty much defeated.

The former WGC county councillor told the WHT: "It is a very sad day for the party and for the very hard working councillors who lost their seats after giving many years of good service to the community."

He added: "We're very determined to fight back to campaign on issues on behalf of the community and continue to hold the Conservative leaders of the council to ascent whenever they make mistakes.
