THOUSANDS of new voters could be added to Hertsmere for the next General Election.

The Boundary Commission has proposed including Carpenders Park, currently in Watford constituency, as part of Hertsmere, in a re-drawing of the electoral map designed to axe 50 MPs nationally.

The proposals will now go out to public consultation.

It would mean 3,900 voters added to the 70,772 in MP James Clappison’s constituency.

Villages Knebworth, Codicote and Datchworth are set to remain in the Stevenage constituency.
