On Monday, October 10, the cadets visited the training ground for their bi-weekly session, where trainee coaches took them through training exercises before playing matches.

Councillor John Donne, councillor for Potters Bar Parkfield ward and president of Hertsmere’s cadets, said: “We recently took on 16 new cadets, so it was a great exercise to get them all to work as a team and support each other.

“Everyone seemed to really enjoy the session.”

Councillor Brenda Batten, portfolio holder for leisure, culture and health, added: “I am delighted our cadets were able to use the first class Arsenal training facilities, thanks to our planning agreement with the team, which encourages the club to deliver community activities.”

The cadets, aged between 13 to 18, learnt about team work, health and fitness, as well as basic football skills.
