Highways England is warning of long delays on the M25 clockwise carriageway following an incident involving a trailer.

Highways England states: “On the M25 clockwise in Hertfordshire between junctions 25 and 26, a HGV has suffered damage to the trailer that it was towing.

“The vehicle is stranded in the carriageway, closing two lanes.

“But a further two lanes still remain open past the scene of the incident.

“Once the stranded vehicle and the load that it was transporting has been removed, an inspection of the carriageway road surface will take place to ensure that it is first safe to re-open the closed lanes.

“We’ve worked hard to ensure that two lanes continue to remain open past the scene of the incident but despite this, there are long delays in this area.

“Road users should allow plenty of extra time for their journey.

“Road users further afield planning to travel through this area may wish to consider alternative routes.”
