HERTFORDSHIRE is the least affordable county to live in across the East of England.
Average house prices of 288,395, 11-and-a-half times higher than average incomes, have pushed Herfordshire to the top of the league in a recent National Housing Federation report.
The new annual report, East of England Home Truths 2010: Why investment in affordable housing matters, looks at the region’s housing market.
It also found that on average people in Welwyn Hatfield would have to earn 11.4 times their salary to be able to buy the average house – it places the borough eighth on the most expensive table.
