‘Hertfordshire is ready for a zombie invasion’ says County Council

FANS of George A. Romero’s Dawn of the Dead and other zombie flicks can rest assured.
For Hertfordshire County Council has claimed it is ready for an invasion of the undead.
Tweeting a link to a Freedom of Information Act request from a “concerned citizen”, who forced Leicester City Council to admit it was unprepared for its own ‘Night of the Living Dead’, the authority confidently boasted: “Thanks all for your concern.
“We would like to reassure you that we are prepared for all eventualities.”
The ‘concerned citizen’ of Leicester council had demanded: “Can you please let us know what provisions you have in place in the event of a zombie invasion?
“Having watched several films it is clear that preparation for such an event is poor and one that councils throughout the kingdom must prepare for.”
However, possibly suffering from a zombie-like sense of humour bypass, a spokesman here in Hertfordshire simply replied: “Emergency planning information is available on our website – type emergency advice into the search box at www.hertsdirect.org,” when asked what contingency measures were in place.
