Hertfordshire firefighters unveil new uniforms

FIREFIGHTERS across the county can now be seen sporting “new and improved” uniforms.

The high specification outfits offer increased protection, are more hard-wearing and offer better thermal cover.

And in a bid to save cash, Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue have teamed up with neighbouring services from Essex, Luton and Bedfordshire, in order gain economies of scale.

HFRS assistant chief fire officer Darryl Keen said: “This is an excellent example of fire services working together to ensure our firefighters have the best possible equipment at the lowest possible cost.”
