THERE was a convincing win in Welwyn as the result was declared this morning (Friday).

Richard Smith held the seat for the Conservatives with a huge majority.

The result was:

David Charles Bartlett (Liberal Democrat) 275

William Nicholas Berrington (Green) 257

Roisin Aeleigh Reid (Labour) 629

Richard Harry Smith (Conservative) 2,117

Arthur Frank Stevens (UK Independence Party) 753
