Hertfordshire council leader gets top new job

A SENIOR councillor has been appointed as the chairman of the influential County Councils Network.

Robert Gordon, the leader of Hertfordshire County Council, will chair the all-party organisation for the next 12 months.

Cllr Gordon said: “I look forward to my new role.

“It will be a challenge and a privilege to work on behalf of our member councils and their 2,500 councillors across the country, ensuring that their views and the interests of our residents are given the profile they deserve.”
