Hertfordshire Constabulary has today received a report judging its performance.
Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary’s (HMIC) report rated the constabulary’s overall performance as “good”.
It says Hertfordshire Constabulary “has a good understanding of its communities and engages positively with the public”, and that chief officers take “the need for an ethical and inclusive workforce seriously”.
It adds taser-trained officers’ decision making is “fair and proportionate”, but said the force “needs to do more” to comply with stop and search guidelines.
Police and crime commissioner David Lloyd said: “This HMIC report recognises the extensive work that the constabulary has carried out to achieve this good result.”
