THE dismembered body of a man is now only missing its hands.

Following the discovery of a torso in Hertfordshire on Saturday, the grim search for the final pieces of the corpse is almost complete.

Police have confirmed the torso found in Gore Lane, Standon, belongs to the same man whose remaining limbs have been uncovered in separate locations across Hertfordshire and Leicestershire.

The torso, which was found with the full right arm and the upper left arm attached, is the latest in a series of grisly discoveries since the left leg was found off the A507 in Cottered on March 22.

Within a few days, the left forearm was found in Wheathampstead and the man's head was discovered in Leicestershire.

Last week a right leg was found in Puckeridge.

The victim, who is yet to be identified, is described as either white or Asian.

Hertfordshire police are hoping to release a digital reconstruction of the man's face by the end of this week, in the hope someone will be able to identify him.
