Vandals hurling golf balls from a moving car in Hatfield have prompted a police appeal.

An appeal today (Thursday) urged witnesses to come forward, with officers saying someone could have been seriously hurt.

It happened in Oxlease Drive between 11.45pm on Sunday, May 10, and 12.15am on Monday, May 11.

Two vehicles, one of which was moving, had golf balls thrown at them, and a house window was broken.

PC William Rogers-Overy, from the Welwyn Hatfield West Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We think the offenders were also driving a car and throwing the golf balls out as they were driving.

“I would appeal to anyone who witnessed what happened to make contact with me.

“I’d also remind people how dangerous this type of behaviour is. The balls could have caused someone serious injury.”

Anyone with information can contact PC Rogers-Overy by calling 101 quoting crime reference B2/15/1673. Alternatively call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
