A HEADLESS body found beside a garage block could be that of missing traveller John Finney, police fear.
The corpse was found by a member of the public in Ickleford, near Hitchin, yesterday (Friday) at about 4.40pm.
Police do not yet know the identity of the victim, but a spokesman told the WHT that Mr Finney was one of the lines of inquiry being pursued.
The 42-year-old dad was snatched from his Mitsubishi Shogun that was found abandoned in Park Farm on Northaw Road West, Northaw, on February 29.
He has not been seen since.

"However, we are following a number of lines of inquiry.
"I would appeal to people living in Ickleford or anyone who has passed through the area in the last two weeks and believes they have seen anything suspicious, or if they have any information to assist with our investigation, to contact the incident room.
"I would like to reassure residents that this is not believed to be a random attack and people in Ickleford and surrounding areas should be safe to continue with their daily routine."
The area where the body was found has been cordoned off, with forensic examinations and searches taking place.
