A veteran foreign correspondent from Hatfield was found dead at an airport as she was returning to war-torn Iraq.

Jacky Sutton, 50, died in mysterious circumstances on Saturday at Ataturk Airport in Istanbul, where she was changing en route from London to Erbil in the Kurdish Region of Iraq.

She was recently appointed acting country director for the Institute of War And Peace Reporting, which has confirmed she was born in Hatfield, although she had lived abroad for many years.
