A WOMAN has been viciously assaulted and robbed in an alleyway in Hatfield.
The 20-year-old victim was walking down Woods Avenue when she noticed a dark coloured Ford Escort, which she believed was following her.
After entering an alleyway opposite Bishop's Hatfield Girls' School, the woman received a blow to the back of her head and collapsed to the floor.
Her attacker then stole a small amount of cash and cigarettes from her jogging bottoms and ran off.

The mugging took place between 9.30pm and 10pm on Wednesday last week.
Fortunately the victim, from Hatfield, did not need hospital treatment but investigating officer, detective sergeant Paul Rogers, is appealing for witnesses.

He said: "This was a callous act which has left the victim understandably shaken."
