Hatfield Town Council has called an “Extraordinary Meeting” for tomorrow evening.

The local authority meeting – which is open to the public – will take place at the town’s Birchwood Leisure Centre in Longmead at 7.45pm.

The agenda involves 15 minutes of questions from members of the public, approval of the last meeting’s minutes, approval of changes to council committees’ memberships and receiving a nomination to the Wellfield Trust.

The press and public will then be excluded to enable discussion of a Welwyn Hatfield Times Freedom of Information request, financial matters and property matters.

Town council clerk Carrie Lloyd said the meeting had been called to officially put Cllr Eames-Petersen onto a planning committee and to discuss the WHT’s FoI request.

The request relates to how much money the council has spent investigating a potential scheme that members last year agreed to keep confidential until after pre-planning information had been received.
