PLANS to finally regenerate Hatfield town centre took another step forward yesterday (Monday), with the announcement of an architect for the project.
London-based design company Haskoll has won the contract to rejuvenate the beleaguered town centre, following a three-week interview stage.
The award-winning company boasts an impressive portfolio, including refurbishing work at the Eden Project in Cornwall, the Piccadilly Arcade in London and the EuroPlaza shopping centre in Beijing, China.
A council spokeswoman said: "Welwyn Hatfield Council, St Modwen and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) have jointly appointed Haskoll as architects, to assist the partnership with the review of Hatfield town centre, for which there will be a public consultation in the autumn."
