A Hatfield teenager was thrilled to win an award at Crufts.

Connor Bartlett, 15, picked up the Young Kennel Club’s Stakes Final title alongside five-year-old Bearded Collie Callie.

The Chancellor’s School pupil said: “I feel so excited right now, this has to be one of the greatest days of my life.

“I want to dedicate this all to my mum, none of this would be possible without her and I couldn’t have trained Callie without her support.

“I’m too young for a beer so I think I’ll celebrate with a takeaway and Callie might be able to have a bit.

“She’s the perfect dog, an attention seeker and she loves being shown but we’ve seen that she’s very good at it and she’s all-round an outgoing and loving dog.”
