HATFIELD swimmer Adam Brown battles for a medal in the final of the men’s 4x100m medley relay tonight (Saturday) at the London 2012 Olympics against an American quartet containing Michael Phelps.

The Team GB quartet qualified second fastest for the final at the Aquatics Centre after winning their heat yesterday (Friday).

The Americans qualified quickest and their quartet will feature the legendary 17-time Olympic gold medallist Phelps.

Freestyle specialist Brown will team up with world 50m backstroke champion Liam Tancock, Olympic silver medallist Michael Jamieson and Michael Rock in the British four.

The Hatfield swimmer tweeted: “Excited to race in the 4x100m Medley Relay Final tonight with @LiamTancock @mj88live and @RockySwimmer”

Meanwhile, Scottish swimmer Jamieson tweeted: “Just realised our relay team is in the lane next to USA... @MichaelPhelps last ever race. Sweet! :)”

The final is due to take place at 8.25pm tonight (Saturday).

Brown trains at the Hertfordshire Sports Village pool on the University of Hertfordshire de Havilland Campus in Hatfield.
