A set of Hatfield students scooped several awards at a Formula Student Competition at Silverstone.
The University of Hertfordshire’s motor racing team, UH Racing, won four awards during a competition run by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).
It aims to bring together the world’s best young engineers, and challenges them to design and build a single-seat racing car to demonstrate their understanding of automotive engineering.
The university’s team were awarded for Most Effective Communications Strategy, The Art Performance Award from sponsor Jaguar Land Rover, Class 1 Design and Endurance Event Fastest Lap.
The uni’s Dr Howard Ash said: “I’m really proud of our team’s performance at Silverstone this year, they put in a phenomenal amount of work in the run up to the event and their hard work paid off with multiple awards.”
