Hatfield’s Specsavers is set to donate money to charity as part of National Eye Health Week.

The Town Centre store will donate £1 for every sight test conducted this week to the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB).

A new report published by RNIB and Specsavers shows that one in five people will live with sight loss in their lifetime despite at least half of all cases being avoidable.

Store director Maryam Dean-Baradaran said: “All of our findings show there is a lot to be done to prevent avoidable sight loss and we will be promoting this messaging during National Eye Health Week.

“As part of the awareness week, the store has also decided to raise funds for RNIB.”
