The council joined in with the Galleria to raise awareness of Armed Forces Day on Saturday, June 30.

Armed Forces Day is a chance to show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community and to veterans.

Town council staff arranged for Henri Harrison’s Hot Shot Jazz Band to entertain shoppers in the Upper Mall.

There was also a pop up Poppy Shop selling Royal British Legion mechanise including the 1918 – 2018 centenary pins.

“It was an excellent turn out and the band was really good.”
