Two Hatfield shops have relocated to allow the town's regeneration plans to continue.

Tasty Vapes, which now sits at 3 The Arcade, and White Lion Squares’s Calamity Comics store, both held opening events last Friday – which councillors and the borough mayor attended.

The moves will allow work to continue at 1 Town Centre, and numbers 3 to 9, where new “high quality” homes and retail units will be developed.

The Hatfield Housing Office and The Hub are also set to permanently move to White Lion Square next Friday.

The Hub will close for the day, and the housing office will shut from 1pm, but both will reopen as normal the following Monday.

Councillor Roger Trigg said: “Local people, businesses and shoppers, as they walk through White Lion Square and around Hatfield, are seeing the benefits of ongoing investment in the town centre.

“It is wonderful to welcome even more new shops and see others benefit from improved units.

“The Hatfield Housing Office move should cause minimal disruption to tenants, but if anyone does have any concerns, then I encourage them to get in touch with their Housing Officer.”

If tenants have urgent Housing Office enquiries on Friday 2 December, they can call 01708 357 796. Residents can also stay up-to-date on town centre regeneration news at www.welhat.gov.uk/hatfieldnews.
