A BUTTERCUP-SHAPED seating area in Hatfield Garden Village has been vandalised just a fortnight after it was officially opened.

But it has subsequently been covered with pink paint and daubed with obscenities.

One local resident, who asked not to be named, said: "The vandalism started from the day it went in.
