A Hatfield schoolgirl proudly told her classmates she was celebrating her third birthday on Monday, although she attends a secondary academy.

As she was born on February 29, 2004, 12-year-old Ceri Price’s birthday occurs only once every four years.

Her mother Janine, of Birchwood Avenue, told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “She has always loved the fact she is a leap year baby.

“She went to school with a badge saying ‘I am three’.

“Ceri loves reading, drawing and playing computer games. She also loves unicorns and pugs. She is fun-loving and funny with a wicked sense of humour.”

Ceri, a pupil of Onslow St Audrey’s School, celebrated with family and friends on Sunday with a meal out and roller skating.
