A generous veterinary practice has helped a Hatfield school buy a new minibus.

The parent association of Green Lanes Primary School presented the school with a brand new mini-bus last week.

By hosting fundraising events and with the help of Village Vets Cayton putting £2,500 towards the minibus, it was purchased and delivered to the school.

Owner of the vets Russell Welsh said: “Two of my young children attend the school, with a third heading there soon.

“It is a fantastic school and they try hard to raise money doing various events.

“I decided that it would be really helpful to sponsor some money towards the bus as my children and their classmates will be using it to travel to events, and now they can travel in a brand new vehicle.

“My children also love the logo of Village Vets and are really proud to have it on their school bus.”

Headteacher Michele Johnson said: “This will be a valuable resource to the school to provide much needed transport to sports and school events.

“A big thank you from all the children and staff.”
