A SCHOOL is marking its 50th anniversary this weekend, and is inviting staff, pupils and parents from the past and present to come and join the celebrations.
Bishop’s Hatfield Girls’ School, in Woods Avenue, will play host to more than 200 former pupils at an old girls lunch on Saturday, before holding an open exhibition on Hatfield in 1960 – the year the school opened.
A portrait of the Mary Ashworth, the school’s first headmistress, will also be unveiled during the celebrations, painted by one of the current sixth formers.
The exhibition will be open between 2.30pm and 4.30pm,
