HATFIELD'S farmers' market has been cancelled on Saturday.

Welwyn Hatfield Council has blamed "treacherous conditions" in the town centre.

A spokeswoman said: "The decision had to be made today to ensure all suppliers and traders are notified in time to prevent them making any preparations for the market.

"Though it is envisaged weather conditions will improve there is still compacted ice in the town centre and this is unlikely to clear in time for traders to set up their stalls tomorrow.
