Hatfield robbery victim says he feared for his life during seven-man raid

A Hatfield man has told the Welwyn Hatfield Times he feared for his life after he was attacked and his house was robbed by seven men with a crowbar.
Offenders broke into the Foxhollows property before threatening and twice punching the occupant, a man in his 20s. They then stole family heirlooms and jewellery made for an upcoming wedding that has since been cancelled because of the raid.
The occupant, who wished to remain anonymous, recalled: “I was having my dinner when I heard really loud noises coming from the back door, about five kicks I think.
“I heard a loud bang twice and saw things vibrating, so I quickly grabbed my phone and went upstairs, but one of them was already in.
“He followed me upstairs and took the phone away. I was pushed against the wall in the toilet upstairs. The two were looking after me while the others were searching the house.”
He added he was scared for his life during the traumatic experience on February 27.
